At times, nature can feel so fragile—from the delicate leaves of a flower’s petal to the soft touch of a bird’s feathers. But the earth—our planet, our home—is over four billion years old. The sheer diversity of inhabitants that exist, or have existed, on its equally diverse landscapes are testament to the sheer strength of life on our earth. A fossil: the preserved remnants of past life. It exists now in a form so different to the life in once enjoyed. In the depths of the ocean, sea life experiences a perspective of earth so unfamiliar to our own, or to that of many of our fellow inhabitants—though, of course, an owl’s vision offers a different perspective to our own. Across time, and across the earth’s different planes, life persists. Our perspectives—in plural senses of the word—differ, but we all coexist here in one way or another.
